How to Change Your Character Class in Vintage Story

Dear Survivalists,

If you've decided that your current character class isn't the right fit, you can reopen the character selection screen and choose a new class.

Step 1: Allow Character Selection Again

Open the server console or chat (with sufficient permissions) and run:

/player yourname allowcharselonce

Replace yourname with your in-game character name.

This command grants your account a one-time opportunity to access the character selection screen again.

Step 2: Open Character Selection

Run the following client-side command:

.charsel

Note: This is a client command. Be sure to include the leading dot (.).

The character selection screen will appear, allowing you to pick a different class.

Notes

• The permission is consumed after the next character selection.
• Server administrators can use this command to help players who selected the wrong class.
• Any class-specific bonuses and penalties will update according to the newly selected class.
