Vintage Story 1.22.4 — Server Safety Patch

The stable Vintage Story 1.22.4 update is now available for download through the account manager.

This release primarily focuses on fixing several in-game exploits that could be abused for griefing on multiplayer servers. Server owners are strongly encouraged to update as soon as possible. These vulnerabilities were limited to in-game interactions and did not affect systems outside the game.

Highlights

  • Fish meat pieces now include "fillet" in their localization to better distinguish them from whole fish.
  • Minor UI improvements to the server dashboard.

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed four interactions that failed to check land claim permissions.
  • Fixed several interactions that could bypass player permissions and enable targeted griefing on multiplayer servers.
  • Fixed cabinets generated by WorldGen or WorldEdit receiving incorrect cabinet types or random contents.
  • Fixed rare exception spam caused by creatures eating items from the ground.
  • Fixed a client crash with the error System.ArgumentException: Given pos contained NaN.
  • Fixed a rare server crash related to falling snow layers.
  • Forget-me-not and Edelweiss flowers once again use their intended three-flower models.
  • Added missing meal texture assignments for the new mushrooms.
  • Fixed unwanted texture seams on polished rock slabs.
  • Resolved a texture conflict between plain glasses and the warrior belt.
  • Large lanterns can once again be mounted to sailboat masts.
  • Fixed duplicate crafting recipes for peasant slippers and brown cuffs.
  • The wrench can now be placed on the forge.
  • Fixed an issue where sleeping in the Devastation teleported players tens of thousands of blocks into the sky.
  • Fixed crafting inconsistencies and ghost items when crafting with hotbar number keys.
  • Axle wall-cover controls now correctly use Ctrl + Right Click.
  • API: Fixed missing forge defaults that could create invalid fuels and particle effects.
