This mod suits players who enjoy chasing ore underground but dislike guessing from vague density readings. It is especially useful when planning larger mining areas or searching for specific stone.
What Absolute Prospecting adds
Absolute Prospecting changes how the Prospecting Pick reports underground resources without replacing the vanilla search modes. Its scans can return the actual ores found in the selected volume, leaving excavation itself to the player.
The Line mode checks 32 blocks along a direction. Area modes scan a vertical column from sky toward the mantle: Small covers 16 blocks across, Medium 32, and Large 64, making the result useful for surveying increasingly broad regions.
Extra Large Stone expands the search to 128 blocks but reports only rock types rather than ores. This makes it practical for locating materials such as chalk while keeping the normal underground mining challenge intact.
