A Wearable Light

A Wearable Light

A Wearable Light is a Vintage Story mod by misterandydandy. A Wearable Light adds equipable head and belt lights to Vintage Story, with toggles, fuel use, and weather-aware behavior.

Why this mod is worth installing

It suits explorers who want hands-free illumination without giving up equipment slots or visual style. It is also useful for players who prefer a more involved light system with refueling.

What A Wearable Light adds

The mod introduces wearable illumination for the head and heavy belt slots. A head torch works without fuel, while belt lanterns come in several metal variants, including brass, copper, iron, tin bronze, black bronze, bismuth bronze, silver, and gold.

Lights can be switched from the hotbar with a configurable keybind or controlled by hovering over the equipped item in the inventory. This makes it possible to manage illumination without repeatedly removing the light from its gear slot.

Belt lanterns use a fuel mechanic: valid fuel such as candles or fat can be applied directly to the light, fuel is consumed while it burns, and the lantern shuts off when empty. Newly crafted lights are supplied with fuel, and an exposed flame can be extinguished by rain when that option is enabled.

Refueling

The settings panel shows controls for wearable-light sound effects and whether rain can extinguish a light exposed to the sky.
