Why this mod is worth installing

This mod suits players who want water gathering and preparation to matter without turning survival into an extreme punishment. It is especially useful for worlds where exploration, wells, and careful supplies are part of the challenge.

What Balanced Thirst [Under rework] adds

A separate thirst bar changes how quickly hunger falls: staying hydrated slows hunger, while low hydration makes it drain faster. Regular drinking can also provide a euhydration health benefit.

Water quality matters. Untreated water may cause vomiting, while boiling water in suitable cookware greatly reduces the risk; pure springs are safer, and stored water can become contaminated in poorly sealed containers.

A dowsing rod helps locate pure underground water for renewable wells. Heat, warm clothing, salty drinks, alcohol, and some foods can increase thirst, while configurable settings let you adjust rates, containers, affected stats, and other rules.

When hydration is overloaded, the bladder mechanic lets the player relieve themselves according to chosen controls. Urine can affect farmland, fill containers, or be fermented into lant for hide processing.
