What Better Crates adds
Better Crates are specialized containers: each block accepts only one item type, but its capacity is much higher than that of a standard wooden chest. The stored item appears as a model on the crate, while the label displays the current quantity, so the contents can be checked without opening a GUI.
Interaction is deliberately simple. Left-click removes items and right-click inserts them; an axe is required to break the crate. Crates can be upgraded directly with the appropriate upgrade item, without moving them to a crafting grid.
The blocks support multiplayer protection systems, including claims, reinforcement, and locking. They work with hoppers and chutes: the bottom face outputs items, while the remaining sides accept insertion. Placement can be rotated, including upward-facing floor and downward-facing ceiling arrangements.
