Blood Trail is a Vintage Story mod by Aylor. Blood Trail adds visible blood traces to animals wounded by player attacks, helping you follow injured prey through the wilderness.

Why this mod is worth installing
Useful for hunters who lose sight of fleeing animals and want a clearer, more realistic way to track wounded prey. It is also suitable for servers that want configurable hunting feedback without affecting lore-related creatures.
What Blood Trail adds
After a sufficiently strong player hit, an animal can leave visible blood spots along its path. Bare-handed attacks do not trigger the effect by default, while weapon strikes can reveal where the wounded animal ran.
The trail responds to movement: a running animal can leave blood more frequently than one moving slowly. Rain makes traces disappear sooner, and contact with water removes them, keeping the mechanic tied to the environment.
The bleeding effect is configurable, including the minimum damage, duration, chance, trail amount, and optional damage over time. Server-controlled values can apply consistently to everyone, while each player can locally hide the visual effect.
