ChemistryLib

ChemistryLib

ChemistryLib is a Vintage Story mod by Moby_. ChemistryLib is a dependency library that adds acids, alkalis, solvents, minerals, phosphorus, tar and carbonated water to Vintage Story.

Why this mod is worth installing

Install it when another chemistry-focused mod requires ChemistryLib, or when you want a shared set of chemical materials for crafting systems.

What ChemistryLib adds

ChemistryLib supplies a common collection of substances for Vintage Story: hydrochloric, nitric, hydrofluoric and acetic acids, plus pyroligneous acid. It also includes sodium carbonate, sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and both white and red phosphorus.

The library covers several supporting materials as well, including ammonium chloride, methanol, seltzer and coal tar. In newer game setups, sulfuric acid and tar may be represented by their vanilla counterparts rather than separate library items.

Its main purpose is compatibility between mods. Instead of each project defining its own version of sulfuric acid or another reagent, dependent mods can refer to the shared ChemistryLib item identifiers.

For players, the practical benefit depends on the mod using it. Lavoisier provides an alchemy-style way to produce many of the materials, while other add-ons can use them for explosives, photography, food, lenses or other specialized mechanics.
