Why this mod is worth installing
Useful for builders who chisel often and want clearer material control, easier detailing, and less repetitive preparation. It is also helpful in survival when recovering the blocks used in a finished microblock matters.
What Chiseling QoL Patches adds
The patch makes the currently selected chiseling material visible in the chisel tooltip and when a material is picked. With the chisel equipped, the middle mouse button can select a material from the targeted chiseled block, fixing the vanilla behavior that may not work correctly.
Materials can be added beyond the boundaries of the selected chiseled block, making it easier to create shapes that cross block edges. When you start placing voxels on a block without a material list, the mod can add the selected material automatically, including otherwise hard-to-obtain variants such as horizontal log forms.
In survival, the automatically selected material is taken from the inventory; variant blocks use their obtainable default form. Removing every voxel returns the constituent blocks, providing a Silk Touch-like recovery option that can be disabled for multiplayer balance.
