What Colorful Candles adds
After making a vanilla candle, place it in a barrel with 2 liters of the chosen dye. The dyeing process takes six hours, and the handbook lists recipes for additional shades such as mint, lavender, teal, brown, sky blue, and lime. Alongside the standard palette, the mod provides red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, pink, black, white, gray, and a visually matching Woad Blue option.
Candles can also receive a colored flame by combining one candle with the required material above and below it in the crafting grid. Quartz produces red light, rusty gear orange, salt yellow, copper green, bismuth blue, and potash purple; the resulting flame also colors the light cast into the surrounding room. Dyed candles and flame colors can be mixed independently, although flamed candles cannot receive scents.
Repaired scribe-table clutter can use a candle to copy its appearance, creating a matching dyed-candle display. A knife can remove the candle from an accessory-equipped scribe table, while the clutter must first be repaired with glue for these recipes to work.
