What Dark Vision adds
Dark Vision gradually increases brightness after entering darkness instead of applying an instant night-vision filter. Adaptation builds over time, while nearby bright sources, especially close ones, quickly reduce it.
The effect considers lights in front of the player, including moving lights carried by other players or entities. Looking toward a lamp can cause temporary overexposure, and darkness can desaturate the image for a more convincing loss of color.
The mod also supports optional light streak effects and attempts to recognize lights that can be switched on or off. Server settings can be enforced on clients, while selected visual and sampling options remain local for smoother control.
