Why this mod is worth installing

This pack suits players who want more life in temperate and subtropical regions, along with unusual hunting, breeding, food, and taxidermy options.

What Fauna of the Stone Age: Dinornithiformes Plus adds

The collection introduces several extinct or rare New Zealand flightless birds, including different moa-related species, rails, wrens, waterhens, swamphens, and takahē. They populate suitable temperate and subtropical areas as ambient creatures, potential prey, and sources of food.

Animals cannot be domesticated because their nests control the reproduction cycle, but adults can breed when a male and female of the same species are kept close together. Feeding requirements vary by species and may include berries, fish, fruit, insects, grain, meat, vegetables, peanuts, or other listed foods.

Breeding females create nests that can eventually produce young while loaded in the world. Breaking a nest provides eggs, which can be placed to guarantee hatching after the required time. Each species also has a distinctive pelt for making hide, feathers, and a complete taxidermied body.

Giant moa populations can be limited locally by fly-covered carcasses that appear in areas under certain conditions. Leaving a carcass intact can block further spawns, while destroying it—or allowing scavengers to do so—opens the area to new giant moa.
