Double Slabs [ABANDONED] is a Vintage Story mod by DanaCraluminum. Double Slabs is an abandoned proof of concept that lets you combine two compatible slabs into one block without chiseling.

Why this mod is worth installing

It suits builders who want mixed wood, stone, ceramic, glass, or modded slab combinations while keeping separate selection, collision, and removal behavior.

What Double Slabs [ABANDONED] adds

Place one slab and add another to create a combined block. The first slab remains the base block, so the feature does not introduce a separate catalog of double-slab items or conversion recipes.

The upper or later-added slab keeps its own interaction orientation. Each half can be targeted and broken separately, while creative middle-click copies only the slab being viewed.

The combined form supports vanilla and mod-provided slabs, including materials such as wood, stone, ceramic, and glass. Attachments, chiseling, and WorldEdit-style movement are supported, although moving or chiseling can drop the last-added slab.

Combined slabs block liquids from passing through, but can contain liquid inside. Their performance impact is described as comparable to chiseled blocks, and the project is marked abandoned.
