Electricity

Electricity

Electricity is a Vintage Story mod by Anluin. Electricity adds a power network with cables, switches, generators, motors, storage, heaters, forges, and lamps to Vintage Story.

Why this mod is worth installing

This mod suits players who want to build powered workshops, automate mechanical equipment, or light their bases with a dedicated electrical system.

What Electricity adds

Cables form the foundation of the network. They attach to solid block faces, can run in different directions, and allow several separate cable segments to share one face. Switches sit on cables and control only the connected cable section, making it possible to isolate devices with a click.

Generators produce electricity from mechanical power, with a small conversion loss, while motors reverse the process and turn electrical energy back into mechanical motion. Motors need enough available power for the connected machine; otherwise they may still consume energy without starting the mechanism.

Accumulators store surplus electricity and help cover the difference between production and consumption across the network. Electric forges and heaters turn power into heat, with heater output depending on the energy available.

Lamps use electricity to create light, and their brightness scales with the supplied power. Together, these parts support compact wiring, powered production areas, controllable machines, and illuminated interiors.
