Fauna of the Stone Age: Elephantidae

Fauna of the Stone Age: Elephantidae

Fauna of the Stone Age: Elephantidae is a Vintage Story mod by Tentharchitect. Fauna of the Stone Age: Elephantidae adds several Holocene elephant species to Vintage Story, with unique tusks, pelts, carcasses, and domestication.

Why this mod is worth installing

This pack suits players who want dangerous megafauna on the steppe and in forests, plus new hunting materials, trophies, and a long-term breeding challenge.

What Fauna of the Stone Age: Elephantidae adds

Elephants appear as powerful herbivores in steppe and forest regions. They are valuable targets because a successful hunt can provide substantial amounts of meat, hide, and fat, but approaching them is risky while they remain hostile.

Each species has its own pelt and tusks. These resources support crafting leather-related items, elephant head mounts, and complete taxidermied body displays, giving both practical and decorative uses to a difficult hunt.

Domestication is a generational process rather than a quick taming action. Keep an adult male and female of the same species close together, feed the female enough portions for breeding and the male at least one, then continue raising offspring until the maternal line reaches generation 10.

A fly-covered carcass can appear when entering an area or after local elephants have been eliminated. While it remains, new elephants are blocked; destroying it restores spawning, although carnivores and scavengers may remove it first.
