A log combined with an axe and a saw yields four sticks, giving larger wooden pieces a useful purpose while keeping the output restrained. The saw requirement prevents the recipe from replacing basic early-game stick gathering too easily.
When crafting wooden paths, place the saw anywhere except the top slot. The top position prioritizes the stick recipe, which can consume boards instead of producing the intended path pieces.
