What Fields and Plateaus adds
The generator favors lowlands, plains, and highlands with broad, level surfaces. Flat hilltops and plateaus create convenient locations for large settlements, industrial areas, roads, or other projects that are difficult to fit into sharply broken terrain.
Lakes still appear across the landscape, while mountains and especially noisy landforms become uncommon. The result is a calmer world layout with more continuous buildable space rather than a map dominated by steep slopes and frequent rugged formations.
Fields and Plateaus is a world-generation mod, so its main effect is felt when terrain is created. It is best suited to a new save, and the world’s overall mountain character can be adjusted through Vintage Story’s upheaval settings.
