What Grassroots adds
Grassroots introduces four wild cannabis strains, each tied to a climate and its own gameplay effect. Hindu Kush suits temperate areas, Red Congo prefers hot and wet regions, Mazar-i-Sharif grows in cold or dry highlands, and Acapulco Gold favors arid heat. Finding plants in the world provides seeds for farming.
Crops can be improved through optional nutrition, drying, and curing stages. Better quality increases the strength of the resulting buff, while joints, pipes, and customizable bongs determine how long the effect lasts. The HUD shows active effects and their remaining time.
Harvests can also provide hemp stalks. These become fiber or hurd, with fiber following the familiar flax-to-linen chain and hemp materials serving as substitutes in many textile recipes. Hemp cloth can be dyed, while fiber and twine can be turned into writable paper.
Finished products can be sold to several trader types, and each has a preferred strain. The available buffs cover practical benefits such as healing, hunger, movement, mining, ranged combat, forage yields, ore drops, and temporal stability.
Quality
