Salty's Hand to Hand is a Vintage Story mod by SaltyWater. Salty's Hand to Hand lets players pass items directly to one another with a key press instead of dropping them on the ground.
Why this mod is worth installing
This QoL mod suits cooperative and RP servers where players regularly share food, tools, materials, or other supplies. It is especially useful when clean, targeted handoffs matter.
What Salty's Hand to Hand adds
The mod adds a direct player-to-player handoff activated by a single key, set to R by default. To make the transfer, look at the intended recipient and use the hand-to-hand action; the item goes straight to that player rather than landing in the world.
A normal activation passes one item, while holding Ctrl transfers the entire stack. The recipient can receive a notification when another player is attempting a handoff, provided logs are enabled.
By default, both players hold the hand-to-hand key. A configuration option removes that requirement for the recipient, making repeated transfers smoother: the sender can keep the key pressed and pass several items without releasing it between actions.
Passing items hand to hand
The sender can pass a single item or transfer the whole stack by holding Ctrl. The receiver-side key requirement can be disabled in the configuration.
Notification for an incoming handoff
With logs enabled, the player receives a notification when someone is trying to give them an item. The sender must be looking directly at the intended recipient.

Continuous item transfers
When the receiver key requirement is disabled, the recipient does not need to hold the hand-to-hand key. The sender can keep holding it to pass another item without releasing and pressing again.
