What Hide armor progression adds
The mod leaves vanilla bear armor untouched and introduces two upgrade stages. Reinforced armor is made by combining bear armor with leather and a sewing kit, giving a mid-game light set with no movement or ranged-attack penalties.
Strong armor is the late-game step: it upgrades Reinforced armor and requires strong leather, which brings steel into the crafting path. Its protection is considerably higher while it remains in the light armor category.
Temperature, durability, flat damage reduction, and percentage reduction are determined by the bear hide used. Polar bear hide produces the strongest results, while brown and black bear hides sit in the middle and panda or Malayan sun bear hides are somewhat weaker.
Reinforced armor has two protection tiers and Strong armor has four. Both new sets can be repaired with leather and sewing kits, although repairs cannot restore them completely; the same repair option also applies to vanilla bear armor.
