Hide Player Info is a Vintage Story mod by Necromunger. Hide Player Info conceals player map pins and name tags, revealing a nearby name only when you look directly at that player.
Why this mod is worth installing
This utility suits PvP servers and immersive communities that want exploration and encounters to rely less on map data and floating name tags. It is especially useful when the server should limit how much player information is sent to clients.
What Hide Player Info adds
The mod removes player pins from the map, making it harder to track other survivors by opening the map. Server-side changes also help prevent player map information from being sent unnecessarily.
Name tags are hidden in normal play, including tags shown above players in third person. A name becomes visible when you look at that player from within 20 meters, preserving a practical way to identify someone nearby without displaying their location at all times.
Servers can optionally allow group members to remain visible on the map and show their name tags. These exceptions make the mod suitable for teams that want privacy from outsiders while keeping basic coordination between allies.
