Immersive Backpacks is a Vintage Story mod by Deven. Immersive Backpacks overhauls backpack slots and rendering in Vintage Story, showing carried bags and items on the character’s body.

Why this mod is worth installing
Choose it if you want backpacks, baskets, quivers, and other carried gear to look physically attached to your character instead of existing only in the inventory.
What Immersive Backpacks adds
The mod adds visible back equipment: bags and other equippable items appear on the player model. When you take an item from a bag slot into your hand, its back model is hidden so the character does not display the same item twice.
The inventory is reorganized around three dedicated bag positions: one central slot for large or heavy loads and two side slots for smaller gear. Side placement suits items such as baskets, lighter bags, and quivers, while compatible modded items can use the available positions.
Rendering follows the slot used by the item, allowing left and right equipment to appear on the corresponding side of the character. This makes a loaded inventory easier to read visually and gives carried equipment a more grounded presence during exploration and work.
The bag’s position on the character is determined by its inventory slot. A bag in the leftmost slot appears on the left side of the player model.

The New Bag Slots
The reworked layout provides three bag positions: a central slot for large or heavy items and two side slots for smaller gear such as baskets, bags, and quivers.
