Salty´s Immersive: Light is a Vintage Story mod by SaltyWater. Salty´s Immersive: Light makes block light respect solid walls and requires a clear line of sight from the source.

Why this mod is worth installing
This mod suits players who want darker, more believable interiors and meaningful torch placement. It is also important for servers where lighting should affect mob spawning and livestock behavior more naturally.
What Salty´s Immersive: Light adds
The mod changes how block light spreads: a solid wall blocks the light instead of allowing it to pass through as if the obstacle were absent. A lit area therefore needs a visible route back to a torch, lantern, or another block light source.
This makes lighting a practical building concern. Corridors, rooms, underground shelters, and defensive structures may need several carefully positioned sources rather than one light that illuminates everything nearby.
The change affects actual block-light calculations, not just the appearance on screen. Areas that cannot receive light through the new system remain relevant to mob spawning and livestock despawn logic.
Calculations run when lighting changes, such as when a source is placed or removed, rather than continuously every frame. The mod works on both client and server, and existing light sources may need to be refreshed for the new behavior to appear.
