What Jonas Boat adds
The Rotor Boat is a late-game paddle boat styled around Jonas technology. It travels at twice the normal boat speed, making crossings and exploration considerably quicker, but its cargo hold has two fewer spaces than the vanilla sailboat.
Its cabin protects the occupant from ranged projectiles, including attacks from bowtorns. The boat also includes custom movement sounds and animations, plus a fog horn activated with the jump key while driving.
Cruise control can be toggled with the sprint key, allowing the boat to keep moving without constant input. Reversing or leaving the driver’s seat turns it off, and both the horn and cruise control have short cooldowns to prevent repeated activation.
Construction uses a staged assembly process on iron-plated rollers. Wood logs selected during assembly determine the boat’s wood type, while Clockmakers receive alternate gearbox and engine recipes that replace some Jonas components.
