Long term food is a Vintage Story mod by MrFlame. Long term food adds durable travel provisions: pemmican, rusks, preserved mushrooms, caramel, nutrition bars, powdered milk, algae products and more.

Why this mod is worth installing
Useful for survivors preparing for winter, expeditions, mining trips or journeys where regular cooking and fresh food are impractical.
What Long term food adds
The main preservation chain is built around pemmican. Combine bushmeat, fat, berries and stones or a hammer to make the raw mixture, then leave it to dry in storage. Salting extends its lifetime further, while cooking it at a firepit improves its calories and adds a small healing benefit. Salted pemmican can also be wrapped with rushmat and rope into a compact package suited to long expeditions.
Bread can be turned into rusks by slicing a well-baked loaf and drying the pieces in an oven. Pemmican and rusks work in stews and soups, letting you build filling meals from preserved ingredients. The mod also offers dried or brined mushrooms, long-lasting mushroom pâté, selected mushroom drinks, honey-cured vintage meat, fruit pastille and non-spoiling caramel.
Several compact alternatives broaden food planning: nutrition bars use seeds or peanuts, honey, grain and salt; soybeans can be pressed into milk and made into cheese; salted milk can be boiled into powder and later reconstituted. Simple flower medicines provide a modest treatment option when better remedies are unavailable.
The algae additions support both food and crafting. Green algae can be eaten, pickled or used as dye, brown algae provide fertilizer and textile materials, and red algae supply dye and fertilizer ingredients. Their world generation differs by climate, encouraging travel between colder and tropical waters; coral can also be milled into lime.
