More fuel

More fuel

More fuel is a Vintage Story mod by MrFlame. More fuel adds alternative fuels for long burns, high-temperature smelting, sulphur and phosphorus crafting, and turning bone meal into lime.

Why this mod is worth installing

This mod suits players who want more ways to manage fuel, especially during long winters or when ordinary fuel cannot reach the required smelting temperature.

What More fuel adds

More fuel introduces several burnable materials with different temperature and duration profiles. Smeared firewood, rot-soaked grass, and rot-soaked peat burn for a long time but provide relatively little heat, making them useful for keeping a fire going or cooking tasks that do not require intense heat. Peat must be dried before it can be used, while pressed rot offers a compact way to store organic waste and can eventually become a peat briquette.

A demanding high-temperature fuel recipe expands smelting options. It can handle iron and meteoric iron, including meteoric fragments, but it is not hot enough for steel. Raw iron ores should not be placed into the mold with this fuel, as the result is an unusable iron bloom rather than a practical ingot.

The mod also adds crafting routes for sulphur powder and phosphorus-related chemistry. Bone meal can be burned into lime, giving another use to a material that would otherwise have limited value.
