Natural Patches is a Vintage Story mod by GeneralLapDragon. Natural Patches replaces monotonous vanilla vegetation patches with varied clusters of plants, debris, stumps, boulders, and surface speleothems.
Why this mod is worth installing
Choose it if natural landscapes in Vintage Story feel too uniform and you want world generation to scatter more varied details across suitable climates.
What Natural Patches adds
Natural Patches rewrites many vanilla block-patch definitions. Instead of broad areas dominated by one plant type, its patches combine several kinds of vegetation with small natural details such as sticks and stones.
The world generator can also place features that are uncommon or absent in the base game, including tree stumps, boulders, and surface speleothems. Their appearance depends on the climate rules used by each patch.
The mod is designed to work alongside schematic-based content because block patches are generated after structures and ruins. Mods that add separate patches may coexist, while another mod changing the same vanilla patch entries can create conflicts.
Some locations may remain unusually bare when their climate matches none of the available patch conditions. Conversely, a broad condition can let a patch cross into a neighboring biome, so results may vary between regions.
