Pemmican combines bushmeat or red meat with fruit and fat. You can shape it with a stone or hammer, dry it for long-term storage, cook it over a campfire, or add it to soups and stews as a protein-rich ingredient.
Soybeans become more useful through a multi-stage process. Soak them in a water barrel, press them before they dry out, and cook the resulting raw soymilk in a pot to make it ready for drinking and further processing.
Pickled vegetables can curdle soymilk into a cheese-like base. After sealing the barrel, this mixture produces tofu, which can be eaten, cooked, or used in meals; cooked tofu supplies Protein rather than Dairy for gameplay balance.
