Ping Markers

Ping Markers

Ping Markers is a Vintage Story mod by Broseten. Ping Markers adds cooperative world pings to Vintage Story, showing who marked a block or entity and the distance directly in the world.

Why this mod is worth installing

This utility is useful for groups that need to point out resources, dangers, animals, or meeting places without relying on voice chat or lengthy coordinates. It also suits small servers where ungrouped players need a shared way to signal locations.

What Ping Markers adds

Ping Markers works like a location signal from cooperative shooters. A player can mark the block or entity they are looking at, and the marker appears in the world with the target type, caster name, and numerical distance when those details are enabled.

By default, pings are shared with members of the player’s group. Players without a group broadcast to the whole server, which makes the feature practical for smaller communities. The maximum visibility and targeting distance can be adjusted.

Markers can use player-based colors or a chosen hexadecimal color. Pings attached to moving entities remain attached as the target travels, so animals and players do not leave the marker behind. A short delay between pings helps prevent accidental spam.
