Player Model lib

Player Model lib

Player Model lib is a Vintage Story mod by VSCustodian, Maltiez and Caliber. Player Model lib is a dependency library for custom player races and models. It also moves shape tessellation off-thread to reduce related freezes.

Why this mod is worth installing

This library is needed by mods that add alternative player models or races. It is installed on both the client and server, while the library itself does not add a new model.

What Player Model lib adds

Player Model lib replaces the character-creation interface with scrollable skin-part controls and tabs for selecting classes. Compatible model mods can then register their own player races, which become selectable during character creation and visible to other players.

The library also lets players adjust model size on its own. Custom classes and traits can be disabled globally through configuration, making models cosmetic while leaving class choices to other mods.

Skin presets can be exported and imported through the mod configuration folder. The current skin can also be exported as a Custom Player Model project, which is useful for further editing with that separate mod.

Its off-thread shape tessellation is intended to prevent freezes during model processing. Because it changes how player shapes and attached items are handled, some mods that alter the default Seraph model or attach equipment may need adjustments.
