Primitive Tools is a Vintage Story mod by Zinth. Primitive Tools adds low-durability stone and woodworking tools, plus bone arrows, to make early-game gathering easier at reduced efficiency.

Why this mod is worth installing
This mod suits players who want to reach mining and wood construction sooner without removing the limits of primitive technology. It is especially useful when basic resources are plentiful but efficiency is not the goal.
What Primitive Tools adds
Primitive Tools introduces a stone pickaxe that reaches tool tier 2, but mines slowly and wears out quickly. It cannot handle metal or mantle blocks, so it works as a temporary bridge before better equipment.
The stone hammer can break non-crystallized ore chunks into nuggets a limited number of times. Together with the wood splitter, it also provides an early alternative for processing logs into planks.
The splitter is made for basic woodworking: hammering it into a log produces four planks, while plank blocks can be separated without the hammer. The mod also adds bone arrowheads, bone arrows, and twig bundles for simple early-game supplies.
