ProspectTogether is a Vintage Story mod by Wooza. ProspectTogether records prospecting results on the map, adds chunk tooltips, heatmaps ore density, and can share findings with other players.
Why this mod is worth installing
Useful for players who prospect frequently and want to compare ore findings without keeping notes. Server installation enables shared prospecting data for a group or the whole server.
What ProspectTogether adds
ProspectTogether automatically captures results from Density Search mode whenever you finish examining a chunk. The findings are attached to the world map, and hovering over a prospected chunk in the minimap reveals its recorded information.
Prospected chunks receive transparent square markers, making explored areas easy to recognize. If you examine the same chunk again, its stored result is replaced with the newer reading, while the marker display can be toggled with the .pt command.
The heatmap view turns recorded ore density into a color gradient across the map. You can focus on one selected ore, such as cassiterite, or show the strongest recorded ore density from each chunk.
The mod works in single-player or as a client-side tool for personal records. When installed on the server, optional automatic sharing can distribute prospecting results to everyone or to a chosen group.
After prospecting, the minimap tooltip shows the recorded information when you hover over the examined chunk. The data is saved for the client and, when shared through a server, in the corresponding world ModData files.
Heatmap
This map mode uses a color gradient to show relative ore density. It can display one chosen ore or the highest recorded density among all ores, alongside the regular map view.
Heatmap for Cassiterite only
The heatmap is filtered to show recorded cassiterite density across the explored map.
