What Real Smoke adds
Real Smoke replaces simple fire particles with simulated smoke entities. Smoke rises, spreads, sinks, moves around obstacles, and reacts to wind, while its density and properties change during its journey.
Fire sources need a route for smoke to escape. Poor ventilation can make smoke accumulate, extinguish some fires, and eventually cause player asphyxiation, encouraging chimneys, openings, or carefully designed walls.
The system recognizes porous and semiporous blocks, allowing smoke to pass through suitable materials. Chiseled openings can also provide ventilation while preserving a room’s insulating structure, making compact chimney designs possible.
