What Pal's Enhanced Locusts adds
The mod substantially expands hacked locusts with a command system built into the tuning spear. You can switch passive behavior, designate a target for focused attacks, queue blocks for drilling, and recall the locust while clearing active orders. Excavation respects ownership permissions and rejects unsuitable blocks, while connected ore and resource blocks can be added to the work queue automatically.
A locust can support prospecting by collecting the extra samples after you take the initial reading, provided it is nearby and has enough drill integrity. That integrity is also used for excavation and can be restored with Tin Bronze or Bismuth Bronze rods. Damaged locusts can be repaired with a tuning spear, and destroyed ones may be restored with metal parts before their remains disappear, although corrupted locusts can be lost during the attempt.
Ownership and handling are reworked so owned locusts appear on the world map and can be picked up into an empty backpack slot. Follow and wait controls, manual light activation, and placement restrictions make the companion easier to manage. A newly hacked locust also replaces the previous one instead of provoking a fight between your own machines.
The overhaul also improves combat survivability and raises the locust's combat tier and damage. Its bulb can be recolored with glass, changing both its appearance and emitted light, with several color choices available.
