What Paddy Fields adds
Paddy Fields introduces a special farmland block that can be made beside water and will flood when connected to a nearby water source. The Ta-kuwa is the dedicated tool for converting suitable fertile soil into a paddy, giving wet farming its own preparation step.
Rice grows less effectively on ordinary farmland but receives a modest benefit in a paddy. Cattails, tule, and papyrus also gain improved conditions there, while cranberry and cloudberry bushes can be planted to create cultivated berry bogs.
The Ta-kuwa head can be produced through knapping or smithing and then fitted to a stick like other tools. Once a paddy is prepared, crops are planted normally, with a modified interaction used for cattails and reeds.
