River Fish [ABANDONED] is a Vintage Story mod by Reverhaus. River Fish adds eight freshwater fish species, expanding river and lake life across cold, temperate, and warm climates.

Why this mod is worth installing

This mod suits players who find warm lakes empty or want more variety while fishing in freshwater. It is especially useful for settlements far from cold regions.

What River Fish [ABANDONED] adds

The mod introduces eight additional freshwater species: black bass, pike, common carp, rainbow trout, walleye, European perch, brook trout, and river sturgeon. Together with salmon, they make rivers and lakes feel less repetitive.

Each species has its own temperature range. Warm-water fish can appear in areas reaching 40°C, while brook trout and sturgeon remain tied to colder waters, giving different climates their own fishing possibilities.

The fish use reskinned official models, so they retain the visual style of Vintage Story. The project is abandoned, and its original purpose is now partly covered by the newer fishing system in Vintage Story 1.22.2.
