Sea Level Fix is a Vintage Story mod by MadSeraph. Sea Level Fix corrects ore placement on Vintage Story worlds taller than 256 blocks, including deposits that should reach the surface.
Why this mod is worth installing
This utility is useful for players creating high-altitude worlds where sea-level-based ore generation can place deposits too deep or make surface fragments unusually rare.
What Sea Level Fix adds
Sea Level Fix targets a world-generation error that becomes visible when the world height exceeds 256 blocks. Some deposits use a sea-level disc calculation, but the original calculation does not adapt correctly to taller terrain, pushing affected ores farther underground than intended.
The correction covers deposits such as borax, sulfur, obsidian, saltpeter, iron varieties, black coal, and other ores using the same generation behavior. It also adjusts the depth logic for surface ore pieces, helping copper, tin, and similar deposits retain a more appropriate chance to appear near the surface.
The change applies while new terrain is generated. Existing chunks are not retroactively regenerated, so the benefit is mainly seen in unexplored areas of a newly created or expanding world. The mod also exposes experimental controls for sea level and the depth limit used for surface ore generation.
