Max's Simple Starvation and Hunger System is a Vintage Story mod by MaxVZD. Max's Simple Starvation and Hunger System replaces starvation damage with weight-based hunger, digestion, and configurable body-condition effects.

Why this mod is worth installing
This mod suits players who want hunger to feel more gradual and immersive without adding a separate nutrition simulation. It is also useful for packs that rely on vanilla food mechanics and compatible food expansions.
What Max's Simple Starvation and Hunger System adds
Saturation is treated as the contents of your stomach rather than a timer before starvation damage. As food is digested, its saturation contributes to stored body weight, while hunger no longer directly injures the player at zero saturation. Eating removes the usual delay before saturation begins to fall, and meals are consumed completely instead of leaving partial portions.
Body weight changes over time and can provide configurable buffs or debuffs shown in the character panel. The mod interpolates effects between weight thresholds, so bonuses can increase gradually rather than switching abruptly. Weight is also burned over time, with the calculation accounting for the configured hunger system.
You can eat beyond maximum saturation, but overeating has a risk: the character may vomit and lose the stomach contents currently represented by saturation. The mod leaves nutrition mechanics intact, including health benefits from a varied diet, and can optionally make reaching a critical weight lethal.
