What SlowTox adds
SlowTox replaces the instant, overly harsh vanilla alcohol experience with a gradual intoxication system. The amount consumed affects the result, so a small serving can provide calories without immediately ruining your character's abilities, while stronger drinking sessions take time to reach their peak.
Intoxication changes over in-game time and can be slept off. Regular heavy drinking builds tolerance, whereas abstaining lets it decline again; class traits can further alter how quickly intoxication accumulates. The /tox command shows current levels, and administrators can adjust values when needed.
Alcohol can now offer practical advantages instead of being only a costly novelty. Depending on intoxication, your character may gain improved mining speed, stronger melee attacks, health regeneration, or resistance that helps against cold damage. The strongest benefits occur around the middle of each effect's range.
There is no artificially tight intoxication ceiling. Excessive drinking can push the character into over-intoxication, causing harm and unusual visual effects, so potent beverages require judgment. The system is designed to make brewing, tavern play, and drunkard-themed roleplay more meaningful.
