What Smithing Plus_1.9.0-rc1_hotfix adds
This is a compatibility hotfix for Smithing Plus rather than a standalone smithing overhaul. It targets performance problems that appear during normal forging and chiseling, while leaving the original mod’s gameplay systems in place.
The patch improves how metal materials are identified. Recipe lookup data is prepared once after loading, recognized materials use the existing cache, and items without a known metal are remembered instead of being checked repeatedly. This reduces unnecessary recipe scans during gameplay.
It also addresses specific stalls: viewing a forge while iron blooms are heating should no longer cause a sharp lag spike, and opening or looking at an anvil should be less likely to trigger a long freeze. Holding the left mouse button while chiseling no longer adds the former 1.5-second delay.
