Stepstools is a Vintage Story mod by Introdile. Stepstools adds simple and padded wooden stools that help small characters reach tall work surfaces in Vintage Story.
Why this mod is worth installing
This mod is aimed at players using a small character model, especially kobolds, who struggle to see or work on tables, anvils, and similar blocks. Characters of normal height may find it mostly decorative.
What Stepstools adds
The mod provides two stepstool styles: a plain wooden version and a padded version. The plain stool uses two wood types, while the padded design combines one wood type with cloth, so the selected materials affect its appearance.
Both variants require boards and a saw, placing them in the copper-age crafting progression. Once placed, a stool works as a small raised platform with an upper step about half a block high.
Stepstools behave like ordinary placeable blocks, but an empty-handed right click lets you pick them up quickly. They are especially useful for small player models that cannot comfortably reach the top of taller furniture or workstations.
