What Salty´s Stone Harvesting. adds
When you use a hammer and chisel on a rock block, the mod examines the eight positions around the clicked face. It marks cells wherever neighboring stone supports or holds the target block, so the required work reflects the actual shape around it.
Each marked cell must be struck before the rock block drops. A simple pillar may need only one hit, while a cross-shaped arrangement requires the four matching edge cells; the order of hits does not matter.
The same logic works on every face direction, including blocks above and below you. Chiseling a cell normally consumes one point of chisel durability, with that cost controlled by the mod’s settings.
Cell layout on a rock face
The diagram divides each face of a rock block into eight cells. Their positions correspond to the neighboring blocks around the selected face.
Pillar
A basic pillar arrangement demonstrates the simplest case, where only one cell connects the target rock to the block above.
One strike makes the block drop because the clicked face has only one relevant adjacent stone block. The upper-center cell is the sole connection that must be chiseled.
Cross
This cross-shaped arrangement shows a more involved pattern with several neighboring blocks around the target.
Four surrounding blocks require the upper-center, right-center, lower-center, and left-center cells to be chiseled. The cells can be completed in any order.
Wall
A wall-like setup surrounds the selected face on every side and uses all eight neighboring positions.
Because every side of the face has an adjacent block, all eight cells must be chiseled before the complete rock block is released.
