Nat's Survival Expanded turns early crafting into a more deliberate process. Flint becomes a key resource for knapping, with deposits appearing in cliff faces and surface caves as well as loose pieces near beaches and shallow water. Hammerstones improve the efficiency of this work, while medium and large carcasses can provide the basis for bone tools.
The progression model no longer relies on only five conventional tool tiers. Power percentages create more gradual equipment steps, while knowledge points earned over time open later stages of development. This stretches the path from primitive survival to advanced equipment.
Food and player condition receive a broader overhaul. Nutrition must be discovered and managed over the long term, high nutrition can improve player statistics, and the tiredness system makes daily activity and recovery more meaningful. Additional balance changes support the mod's goal of making survival relevant throughout a longer playthrough.
