Synergy is a Vintage Story mod by Zaldaryon. Synergy coordinates 15 client-server optimizations for modded Vintage Story, reducing server load, bandwidth use, and multiplayer stutter.
Why this mod is worth installing
This utility is aimed at administrators of modded multiplayer servers and players who want smoother entity updates, AI, pathfinding, and teleports. It can run server-side alone, while installing it on both sides unlocks delta position encoding.
What Synergy adds
Synergy targets several expensive server loops. It avoids ticking distant entities, throttles AI and pathfinding according to player distance, skips needless collision and inventory work, and reuses objects to reduce garbage collection pressure.
Networking is handled in larger batches, while entity tracking uses a buffer to reduce pop-in. Distant or stationary entities can be sent less often, nearby entities receive priority after login or teleport, and loading is spread across ticks instead of causing a sharp frame spike.
The mod includes per-optimization counters and live statistics, so administrators can inspect saved bandwidth, skipped checks, entity activity, and pooling results. Each optimization can be switched independently, and a circuit breaker returns that feature to vanilla behavior after repeated errors.
