Temporal Storms Require a Fight is a Vintage Story mod by Soareverix. Temporal storms last much longer, but killing drifters shortens them. Warnings, sounds, commands, and detailed scaling options make each storm a fight.
Why this mod is worth installing
This mod suits players who want Temporal Storms to become extended combat events rather than brief hazards. It is especially useful for worlds where surviving a storm should depend on actively hunting drifters.
What Temporal Storms Require a Fight adds
Temporal storms are extended substantially: light storms use a fivefold duration, medium storms last 7.5 times longer, and heavy storms last ten times longer by default. The extra time is not purely passive, because every drifter killed reduces the remaining storm duration.
The reduction normally uses percentages, with different drifter types able to contribute different amounts. Corrupt drifters have a stronger effect than ordinary enemies, while special variants such as double-headed drifters can shorten the storm even more. With the default light-storm values, defeating 20 drifters can end the event immediately.
The mod provides detailed controls for storm duration, kill-based reduction, and alternative fixed-value scaling. Multiplayer settings can also adjust the required number of kills as more players join the fight. Storm warnings arrive at ten, five, and one minute before the event, accompanied by more noticeable atmospheric sounds.
During the storm, killing drifters triggers temporal audio feedback and briefly accelerates the storm sounds. Chat notifications can be disabled for a more immersive experience, while commands let you inspect or alter the setup and schedule the next storm immediately.
