The Remnants is a Vintage Story mod by MrFistycuffs. The Remnants expands Vintage Story’s class system with ten specialized roles, unique crafts, starting gear, and class-focused gameplay for solo and multiplayer worlds.

Why this mod is worth installing
Choose this mod if the base classes feel too broad or you want clearer roles in a settlement. It is especially useful for multiplayer groups that need dedicated farmers, miners, defenders, scouts, and crafters.
What The Remnants adds
The Remnants reshapes the class system around practical community roles. The Serf improves farming and animal harvesting, the Ironmonger supports mining and industry, and the Woodsman specializes in forestry and gathering. Each role begins with equipment that reinforces its intended playstyle.
Combat and exploration receive their own focused options. The Hedge Knight is built for defense, the Blackguard for heavy damage, the Yeoman for ranged support, and the Wanderer for extended trips away from settlements. Their recipes and balance changes make these choices more distinct.
Other classes cover supplies and workshop work: the Malefactor gathers loot from ruins and the wilderness, the Gearsmith handles technical processing, and the Guildsman provides safer general crafting utility. The mod also adds class-specific recipes, bow adjustments, and experience modifiers for compatible skill systems.
The Serf
The Serf is designed around farming and animal husbandry, improving the gathering of food and other settlement supplies. Its starting item is a copper scythe.

The Hedge Knight
The Hedge Knight protects allies by specializing in defensive combat and holding enemy groups at bay. It starts with a wicker shield and scrap mace, while the Forlorn Hope Estoc receives improved durability.

The Wanderer
The Wanderer supports exploration and life far from civilization, with equipment suited to extended wilderness trips. Its starting gear includes a scrap spear and poultices, and its lantern recipe accepts several alternative parts.

The Ironmonger
The Ironmonger focuses on mining and industrial work, helping expeditions extract valuable resources from deep underground. Its starting equipment includes ore blasting bombs.

Makeshift Bomb Recipe
The makeshift bomb can be produced from any clay, blasting powder, and a crucible, giving the mining-focused class an early explosive option.

The Yeoman
The Yeoman is the ranged combat specialist, providing bow support for allies and settlement defense. It begins with a crude bow and crude arrows.

Bow Balance Changes
The bow rebalance strengthens the longbow and reserves it for the appropriate class, while the recurve bow remains available to every class.

The Malefactor
The Malefactor is dedicated to collecting supplies from ruins and the wilderness, then returning with useful loot. Its starting item is a copper knife.

Papyrus Wicker Pack
The wicker pack can also be crafted using papyrus, giving the loot-focused class an additional material option.

The Woodsman
The Woodsman covers forestry and foraging around a growing settlement, turning the nearby wilderness into a dependable source of materials. It starts with a sling.

The Gearsmith
The Gearsmith specializes in technical crafting, scrap processing, and maintaining mechanical systems. It starts with a scrap bomb and scrap weapon kit, and rusty gear crafting accepts any hammer and chisel.

The Guildsman
The Guildsman is a general utility and crafting class suited to work performed safely behind settlement walls. Its starting item is a set of rusty gears.

The Blackguard
The Blackguard is built for high-damage combat against natural and otherworldly threats. It starts with a scrap blade and bandages.
