The Remnants Reborn is a Vintage Story mod by Tyeia and MrFistycuffs. The Remnants Reborn adds lore-inspired classes with specialized roles, starting gear, and exclusive crafts for farming, combat, exploration, mining, and more.

Why this mod is worth installing
Choose it if your group needs clearer community roles or you want a more specialized start in single-player Vintage Story. It is especially useful for players who enjoy focused professions rather than broad default classes.
What The Remnants Reborn adds
The mod expands the class system with roles built around settlement needs. The Serf improves farming and animal harvesting, the Ironmonger supports mining and industry, and the Wanderer is prepared for long expeditions away from civilization.
Combat options are divided by purpose. The Hedge Knight emphasizes defense and protection, the Yeoman specializes in ranged support, and the Blackguard is aimed at dealing heavy damage. Their starting equipment and selected recipe changes reinforce these identities.
Other classes cover gathering, forestry, crafting, and technical work. The Malefactor focuses on bringing loot home, the Woodsman serves as a wilderness forager, while the Gearsmith and Guildsman provide different approaches to processing materials and producing useful goods.
The class additions are designed for multiplayer cooperation without making solo play irrelevant. Several recipes and balance changes support the new roles, including specialized bows, lantern components, bombs, packs, and gear-related crafting.
The Serf
The Serf is presented as a farming and husbandry specialist with improved harvesting for crops and animals. Its starting item is a copper scythe.

The Hedge Knight
The Hedge Knight is a defensive combat class built to protect allies while they work or retreat. It starts with a wicker shield and scrap mace, and improves the Forlorn Hope Estoc's durability.

The Wanderer
The Wanderer is designed for players who spend long periods exploring the wilderness away from settlements. Its starting gear includes a scrap spear and poultices, while its lantern recipe accepts several Jonas parts and a scrap lantern.

The Ironmonger
The Ironmonger focuses on mining and industry, supporting expeditions into deep caverns. The class can use ore blasting bombs, including a makeshift version made from clay, blasting powder, and a crucible.

Makeshift Ore Blasting Bomb
The pictured recipe shows the makeshift bomb assembled from clay, blasting powder, and a crucible. Ironmongers begin with ore blasting bombs.

The Yeoman
The Yeoman specializes in ranged combat and provides bow support for allies or settlement defense. Its starting equipment is a crude bow and crude arrows.

Bow Rebalance
The class changes rebalance bows: the longbow receives a stronger, class-specific role, while the recurve bow remains available to every class.

The Malefactor
The Malefactor is dedicated to gathering loot and supplies from ruins and the wilderness before returning them to the settlement. It starts with a copper knife.

Wicker Pack
The wicker pack can also be crafted using papyrus, giving the gathering-focused Malefactor another material option.

The Woodsman
The Woodsman focuses on forestry and foraging in the wilderness around a growing settlement. Its starting item is a sling.

The Gearsmith
The Gearsmith is a technical crafting class centered on processing scraps and maintaining mechanical systems. Rusty gear crafting accepts any hammer and chisel, and the class starts with a scrap bomb and scrap weapon kit.

The Guildsman
The Guildsman provides a safer, general-purpose crafting role behind settlement walls. It begins with rusty gears.

The Blackguard
The Blackguard is a high-damage combat class intended for confronting natural and otherworldly threats. Its starting gear consists of a scrap blade and bandages.
