What Visored Helmets adds
Visored Helmets introduces nine new helmets with movable visors and adds functional visor versions for five standard metal helmets. Press V to switch between open and closed positions, with the key available for remapping in the controls.
A closed visor provides the strongest protection, while an open visor leaves the face exposed and slightly reduces relative defense. Keeping it raised also lessens penalties affecting healing, hunger, and ranged weapon performance, making it useful while exploring or working.
Lowered visors can add a helmet-shaped vignette that narrows the view without covering the player interface. The effect, its intensity behavior, and visor sound volume can be adjusted, while vanilla plate helmets can use a separate vignette option.
Recipes allow helmets and visors to be crafted as separate stages, so visorless versions remain available. Steel helmets and bevor pieces receive special treatment, while gold and silver versions are made by plating steel helmets rather than being forged directly.
