Vintage Recipes

Vintage Recipes is a Vintage Story mod by Tels and Phiwa. Vintage Recipes revises selected crafting recipes in Vintage Story, adding realistic materials, tools, and processes such as oak aging and rusty iron trapdoors.

Why this mod is worth installing

This mod suits players who want crafting to feel more grounded and immersive, especially on realism-focused or private servers. It is also useful for anyone seeking access to rusty iron trapdoors and more demanding workshop recipes.

What Vintage Recipes adds

Vintage Recipes adjusts a focused set of recipes rather than adding a separate progression system. Wooden and metal construction now calls for supporting materials such as nails, strips, sticks, twine, and appropriate tools. Barrels, buckets, troughs, solid wood doors, metal doors, trapdoors, plaques, torch holders, and helve hammers receive these extra requirements.

The mod also changes several early metalworking recipes. Bloomeries use clay to seal their brick structure, while forges require hard small stones and clay instead of cobble blocks. Saws and lanterns gain additional tool or material requirements, making workshop preparation more important.

Oak boards and logs can be aged in a barrel containing strong tannin. The process uses different amounts of liquid depending on whether the oak is whole, debarked, or already cut into boards. Rusty iron trapdoors are added as a craftable option that is not available in vanilla Vintage Story.
