VS Village is a Vintage Story mod by Gerste, Kareener and MiraLeaps. VS Village adds villages, villagers, workplaces, routines, trading, and tools for founding and managing your own settlement in Vintage Story.

What VS Village adds
VS Village lets you establish a settlement through a Settlement Keeper summoned with a Summoning Horn. After placing the mayor’s workstation, you can name the village, define its territory, monitor statistics, buy essential objects, and hire residents. Beds, workstations, braziers, and waypoint posts form the basic infrastructure.
Residents have distinct jobs and routines. Farmers cultivate nearby fields, anglers fish, shepherds care for penned animals, woodworkers process lumber, smiths make tool heads, herbalists prepare healing goods, and traders supply useful items. Builders can construct structures for a fee, while soldiers and archers patrol and respond to threats.
Hiring depends on practical conditions: workers need suitable rooms, equipment, food sources, animals, shops, or training space. Waypoints and diagnostic commands help villagers navigate larger settlements and reveal important village locations when something is difficult to trace.
Founding Villages
A Summoning Horn calls a Settlement Keeper, who provides the items needed to establish a village in exchange for rusty gears. The mayor’s workstation then becomes the center for naming, managing, and expanding the settlement.
Pathfinding
The pathfinding tools show how a villager travels between two selected points. Waypoints supplement AStar navigation and help residents follow longer routes through the village.
Points of Interest
Village highlighting marks important locations and the settlement border. A separate highlight command can reveal the bed or workstation associated with a nearby villager.
Note on Errors
The notice shown here concerns villagers from the base-game story Village, not VS Village residents. Problems caused by separate village add-ons should be investigated with those add-ons instead.
